| Dusan Otasevic Dušan Otašević is known as a representative of new figuration, that is, of the new objectness from the late 1960’s, and he has remained consistently faithful to that form of expression. Through his paintings-objects, he depersonalises reality, turns it into his own reality, relativising himself as a creative subject in the process of creating a work of art. The objects that he creates represent an imaginary, even alternative reality. The consumer society, consumerist behaviour, the popular aesthetics of everyday surroundings, trivial situations transformed into puzzle-like events – these are just some of the thematic lines dealt with by this artist in his long-lasting and rich opus.
