| INDOORS The Indoors Action Art was presented in an apartment in Athens, in April 2008. Our subject matter was Home. Home is the primary cell in which the whole spectrum of human feelings is born and developed; all the feelings ranging within a dipole -from absolute affirmation to absolute negation, with all those infinite maneuvers, changes and subversions being plausible. A place shaped through time, depending on the needs and priorities set by the occupant, reflecting like a mirror each of his mental conditions and attitudes–relationships on himself and the others, in a personal, social, financial and political frame. Our choice to artistically intervene in this place, urged us to discover latent dynamics without having to abolish the vitality of the functional home. The course of our visit in this specific apartment (one members’ of our group home) and our predetermined function as hostesses during the exhibition, created the living form -Indoors happening- and revealed our attitude towards our multiple identity, women-artists-hostesses. The role of the hostess embraced all the artistic forms we presented and transformed this private apartment into a «home», an exhibition and a public social event. It was an exhibition of our experience within the time covered; An attempt to re-determine ourselves in terms of past, present and – by all chance – future Indoors is moving out Indoors is moving out and changes form. How can an action performed within an apartment be moved out into public? Based on experience, content and some “basic” works, Indoors sets out. What does it has in its baggage? Warmth, affection, solitude, nostalgia, awkwardness, joy and agony for what is new. Home is traveling along within us. Through this moving out we are moving out, too. We delve in the needs of cooperation and the acceptance of our individuality, which provides us with a different possibility concerning the cohesion of our group and allows for a different view of things and our own selves.
